Frequently Asked Questions

1

PIERCING
How should I prepare myself?

Having a piercing done does not require a lot from a customer's side, however, it's better to have a meal before (not necessarily just before) the procedure to keep a proper sugar level.

3

PIERCING
Does it hurt?

Most piercings, regardless of how painful they are, are most intense for a split second as the needle goes through and the jewellery is inserted. Many people describe it as a sting that quickly subsides. Please bear in mind that everybody has a different pain threshold and one can say that the same type of piercing is painful when the other person may not feel a thing. It may or may not be a painful experience for you, and it may hurt more or less than other procedures such as injections or tattoos.

PIERCING
Aftercare

Clean the area TWICE a DAY for 6 WEEKS.

The best for piercing is a sterile saline solution. Use 1-2 ear cotton buds to clean around both sides of the piercing to remove any crust or discharge.

After the initial 6 weeks clean your new piercing every 2-3 days until it’s fully healed. Don’t change your piercing for 6 weeks minimum, but if it is tender we recommend leaving it longer. Don’t take the jewellery out as it will close up.

Don’t twist or play with your piercing as it will swell and may become infected. Bleeding is normal and I recommend compressing the area until it stops. It can take up to 5 minutes.

Any swelling problems - come back to us. Do not seek piercing help elsewhere.

2

PIERCING
Do you use piercing gun?

No, I do not. Using needles results in less tissue trauma, shorter healing time, and an overall more hygienic piercing procedure than piercing with a piercing gun. Needles also allow the piercer to get a more precise piercing angle. When it comes to pain level, in comparison to needles, the piercing gun is actually more painful than the hollow needle method due to the blunt force trauma forcing jewellery into your skin, which causes significant tissue damage and displacement.

4

PIERCING
What is the age threshold?

According to the NHS website there is no legal age restriction on most body piercings, but performing genital or nipple piercing on someone under the age of 16 could be considered an offence.

Under the age of 18, you need to bring your parent with you.

6

DREADLOCKS
How are they made?

I lock hair with a crochet hook so they are smooth and tight at the end.

I can make them thinner or thicker, longer or shorter, it's entirely up to you.

If your hair is too short, I can suggest extensions, either synthetic or natural. That also depends on your personal preferences.  No matter what type of hair you pick, after locking it's hard to recognise which ones are natural or artificial, especially when you match the colour well.

7

DREADLOCKS
How long does locking take?

Locking hair is a long process so the initial session may take from 6-12 hours. That also depends on the outcome you want. If the session seems too long, we can split it into 2 or 3 days.

Reparations are much faster, between 2-4 hours at one go.

8

DREADLOCKS
Can I brush them out?

Properly locked dreadlocks are impossible to brush out once you change your mind. It is, however, possible to brush your roots out after cutting off the rest.

9

DREADLOCKS
Do they damage my hair?

It only damages your locked hair but roots are fine. Taking care of your scalp is also crucial, proper diet and supplements like biotin, horse radish, zinc, and copper make your roots regenerate.
